Superb and highly important large-scale oil on canvas by the Belgian artist Jehan Frison (1882-1961), a major figure of Brabant Fauvism and the Belgian post-impressionist school.
Titled "Nu de dos" (Nude from behind), this rare and intimate artwork depicts a woman at her toilet in front of a mirror. The reflection subtly reveals her face and bust, creating a highly sensitive composition.
Painted in 1922, this canvas stands out due to its exceptional and monumental dimensions (84 x 114 cm without frame), a museum-quality size that is particularly rare for this artist. The brushwork is generous, textured, and modern, characteristic of his interwar style in Linkebeek.
