素晴らしいF.N. M70 Sahara、前世紀前のベルギーの真のクラシックです。
エンジンブロックは外れており完動状態ではなく、再び走行できるよう点検・整備が必要です。
製造年はおおよそ1930年。県登録番号N-36193は1933年にノース・ブラバント州オイルシュト特にJ.M.A. Vogelsへ発行されました。
フルヘッドの専門的な請求書とフレーム番号・エンジン番号が付属します。その他の登録証は付いていません。
1923年末、FNは350ccの単気筒頭部開閉機構をユニット構造で市場に投入しました。このモデルはM60で、重く高価な4気筒が市場の勢力図を崩し始める時期に、新たな成功モデルラインの幕開けとなりました。
2年後にはより大きな500ccの兄弟機が登場し、M67と呼ばれました。ほどなくしてFNの4気筒の生産は完全に停止されました。頭部開閉式のエンジンは非常に成功しましたが、工場はこれらがスポーティなライダーに特に魅力的だと気づきました。そこで、実用車としての側面を強調するべく、サイドバルブとユニット構造を組み合わせたモデルを生産する決定を下しました。
モデルM70はボア×ストローク74 × 80.5 mm、ユニット構造エンジン、3速ギアを搭載していました。
初期モデルの外部フライホイールは赤色に塗られており、このモデルの別名はほぼ「Moulin Rouge」と呼ばれていました。
信頼性を証明するため、1927年4月〜6月には二人のフランス陸軍将校と一人のベルギー整備士がM70でサハラ砂漠を横断しました。6300kmの砂漠を、機械が彼らを見捨てることなく進みました。
この英雄的な偉業は工場に大きな宣伝効果をもたらし、勇敢な小さな機械に対して「Sahara（サハラ）」の名が与えられました。
