In the play "Ishibashi (Stone Bridge)", the Shishi (lion) is used as the spirit animal that Monju Bosatsu rides. The lion's dance is the highlight of this performance. The entire face is gold. The eyes and fangs are especially outstanding. The length of the fangs is the largest of all the Noh masks, giving the mask more strength than fear.
