細密に刻まれた西アジア風の stamp 印章が、茶褐色の硬石から成り、ほぼ長方形で上部が丸みを帯びています。印章の卵形の台座には、横たわる四足動物が刻まれています。毛並みや長い耳、尾を表現するため、繊細な切込みが施されています。印章には吊り下げ用の穴が開けられています。表面には摩耗と土着の被膜が見られます。
古代の印章は石で作られることが多かったものの、骨・象牙・ファイエンス焼・ガラス・金属・木材、時には日干し粘土や焼成粘土で作られた例も存在します。古代世界では印章は所有者の真偽を保証しました。そのため、法的取引や盗難防止において重要な役割を果たしました。動物を抽象化した形や想像的な Zoomorphic の像を持つ印符は、メソポタミア全域で紀元前末期の文脈で見つかっていますが、スタンプ印章と円筒印章が古代近東では主要なタイプです。
