Description from the seller
Description:
Exceptional glass art artifact, unique for its combination of three historical production technologies. This organic, biomorphic design bowl represents a pinnacle of mid-century chemical glass experimentation.
The object features a triple chromatic reaction, an extremely rare trait that places it among high-end collectable pieces:
Neodymium Effect (Daylight / Cool Light): The object appears in a clear ice blue / sky blue shade.
Alexandrite Effect (Warm Incandescent Light): The glass shifts drastically toward lilac, lavender and pinkish-purple.
Uranium Effect (UV Light): Under Wood’s lamp (UV), the piece reveals a stunning bright green fluorescence with the characteristic "dotted" reaction pattern of high-era opalescent glass.
The finish is completely acid-etched (frosted) with superior velvety quality, diffusing light softly. The absence of a visible signature, together with the technical complexity, suggests an early production run or a period piece originally bearing a paper label from a prestigious manufactory (e.g., Lalique, Sabino or Moser).
Conditions:
Excellent. No chips, cracks or restorations. The petal tips are intact.
Technical Data:
Dimensions: Width 10 cm | Height 4.8 cm | Depth 4 cm.
Weight: 232 grams (solid glass).
Material: Uranium-doped Neodymium Glass.
Era: 1930-1950.
Style: Art Déco / Organic Mid-Century.
