この魅力的な標本は、中国・新疆ウイグル自治区アルタイ地区で見つかった希少な鉄隕石、アレタイ隕石由来です。正式には2011年に発見されたとされていますが、以前の時代にも観測されていた可能性が高いと言われています。アレタイはIIE型異常の金属隕石ファミリーに属し、壮麗な結晶構造で知られています。

A section of the gallery was dedicated to the Wunderkammer, "chamber of wonders or cabinet of curiosities" in which Mirabilia elements are presented: naturalia and italiania, a union between "the present is the past".
