4/4 violin labeled Camillus Camilli fecit Mantova 1753, with spruce top and flamed maple back, golden amber varnish, total length 592 mm, back 359 mm, in good condition with professionally repaired cracks and tested and playable.

You are bidding on a very fine 4/4 master violin, labeled Camillus de Camilli fecit in Mantova 1753.
The instrument remains in good condition with tears and wears and professionally repaired small cracks. The top is made of straight, high to medium grained spruce, while the two-pieces back is of strongly flamed maple, with matching ribs and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed, and the edges are masterfully finished.
The original golden amber varnish remains in excellent condition.

Upper bouts: 167 mm
Middle bouts: 113 mm
Lower bouts: 209 mm
The sound is very deep, rich, warm, and powerful.
