Threshold explores the quiet tension between balance and transition through a restrained visual language. A bold black circular form emerges from beyond the upper edge of the canvas, intersected by a single vertical line that anchors the composition. A sweeping arc introduces movement while preserving a calm architectural rhythm.

Built from multiple translucent layers of warm off-white, beige and soft grey, the surface reveals subtle scratches, brushed textures and traces of the painting process. These tactile marks interact with changing light, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover new details over time.

Minimal in form yet rich in material presence, the work draws inspiration from architecture, Japanese aesthetics and contemporary abstraction, balancing geometric precision with an organic, hand-crafted surface.

About the Artist

MiLo（1976年）はアムステルダムを拠点とするオランダの現代美術作家です。主にキャンバスにアクリル絵具を用い、層状のニュートラルな色調、触覚的な表面、そして慎重にバランスを取った幾何学的構成を特徴とするミニマリストな抽象絵画を制作します。

全て自学で学んだMiLoは、微妙な質感、傷ついた表面、建築的な形態が、即座の解釈を求めるのではなく熟考を促す作品を生み出す、特徴的な視覚言語を発展させました。

彼の作品は国際的にコレクションされており、オランダ、ベルギー、フランス、スペイン、イタリア、スウェーデン、アメリカ、香港、台湾を含む多数の私蔵コレクションにも所蔵されています。
