戦前もしくは戦時中の日本の貯金箱（募金箱）。印刷された日章旗、愛国的な標語、そして金属製のコイン投入口が特徴です。

Description
この縦長の木箱は、正面の横長の金属製投入口から硬貨を受け取るように設計されています。上部背面には補強された穴があり、壁に掛けて使用できるようだったと考えられます。

正面には、日章旗を描いた経年した緑色の印刷紙ラベルが貼られています。確認できる文言には、国旗掲揚や貯蓄奨励を促す旧字体の日本語表記が含まれています。デザインと旧字表記から、昭和戦前期または戦時期のものと推測されますが、正確な年代や発行団体は不明です。

本体は木の板と金属製の留め具を用いた、シンプルで実用的な構造です。20世紀前半の日本の家庭や地域社会における貯蓄文化を物語る、印象的な一例です。インダストリアル調、侘び寂び、あるいはエクレクティックなインテリアで、歴史的なグラフィック性のあるオブジェとして飾ることもできます。

Technique:
木の板を組み合わせた構造に、印刷紙の装飾と金属製の留め具が取り付けられています。

Condition:
使用感が強く、傷みの目立つ状態です。木部の表面には広範囲にわたる傷、擦れ、シミ、仕上げの剥落、小さな欠け、縁の摩耗が見られます。印刷紙には色褪せ、表面の汚れ、傷、折れ、欠損が見られ、特に左上と右下の角に顕著です。

金属製のコイン投入口にはかなりの酸化（サビ）が見られます。上部の留め具の一つが欠損しており、別の釘または留め具が上部に突き出しています。開閉機構および使用可否については検証されていません。鍵や付属品は含まれません。

Japanese Wall-Mounted Savings Box – Wood and Printed Paper – Japan
A pre-war or wartime Japanese savings or donation box with a printed national flag, patriotic inscriptions and a metal coin slot.

Description
This tall wooden box was designed to receive coins through the horizontal metal slot on the front. A reinforced hole at the upper back appears to have allowed the box to be mounted on a wall.
The front is covered with an aged green printed paper label featuring the Japanese national flag. The visible inscriptions include old-form Japanese wording encouraging the display of the national flag and patriotic saving. The design and historical spelling suggest a date in the late Shōwa pre-war or wartime period, although the exact year and issuing organisation are unknown.
The object has a simple functional construction using wooden boards and metal fasteners. It is an evocative example of Japanese domestic or community savings culture from the first half of the twentieth century. It may also be displayed as a historical graphic object in an industrial, wabi-sabi or eclectic interior.

Technique:
Constructed from joined wooden boards with applied printed paper decoration and attached metal fittings.

Condition:
In heavily used and distressed condition. The wooden surfaces have extensive scratches, abrasions, stains, finish loss, small chips and worn edges. The printed paper has fading, surface dirt, scratches, creases and losses, particularly at the upper left and lower right corners.
The metal coin slot has substantial oxidation. One upper fastener is missing, and another nail or fastener projects from the top. The opening mechanism and usability have not been tested. No key or separate accessories are included.
