18カラットの金、メタクリレート、色とりどりの硬質石、緑・青・水色。1970年のイタリア、ノース・イタリアのValenza、1922年 – 2012年。
「表面、色、光、象徴、物質と時間の間の連続的な対話」。カヴァッリによれば、これが芸術の定義である。名高い金細工師・画家・彫刻家である彼は、その対話に生涯をささげた。彼の並外れた職人技とともに絶え間ない実験心は、独特の節度と比類なき調和を備えた抽象形の創造へと導き、20世紀半ばのイタリア美術の諸質を映し出している。
