━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This sculptural metal vase is a Japanese decorative work, characterized by its dynamic form, which evokes a crane taking flight, and by its sophisticated surface decoration.
A chrysanthemum motif, rendered in gold and silver tones, is finely engraved into the deep bronze ground. These decorative elements reflect a traditional Japanese aesthetic that harmoniously balances movement, elegance, and restraint.
The upward-curving silhouette meticulously captures the moment when the crane extends its neck, giving the piece a powerful yet refined presence. As such, it functions both as an expressive art object and as a vase suitable for ikebana (Japanese flower arrangements).
The vase is accompanied by an original mounting board bearing calligraphy, along with a printed booklet introducing the history and techniques of Takaoka metalcraft. This tradition, which spans approximately 400 years, is renowned for its casting methods, patination, and decorative finishing techniques.
Although the exact artist cannot be conclusively identified, the techniques, materials, and accompanying documentation strongly suggest that this work was produced within the tradition of Japanese Takaoka metalwork.
