Background: Takuo Kato & Kobei-gama
Takuo Kato (1917–2005) was one of Japan's most celebrated ceramic artists and a designated Living National Treasure.
He spent decades researching ancient Persian lusterware and successfully revived these lost techniques in Japan.

Kobei-gama, located in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, is a historic kiln founded in 1804.
Under the leadership of Takuo Kato, the kiln became world-famous for blending Silk Road aesthetics with traditional Japanese Mino-yaki pottery.

Even today, the kiln continues to produce high-quality ceramics that represent the pinnacle of Japanese artistic heritage.
Owning a piece from this lineage means possessing a fragment of ceramic history.
