Original, official rotating hanko shop display stand from Japan, a glass-fronted aluminium-framed cabinet housing 1000+ wooden teisei-in correction seals, dating to the Showa/Heisei era.
Description from the seller
Description
A rare vintage Japanese stationery-shop display: a rotating retail stand fully stocked with 1000+ ready-made "teisei-in" correction seals (small personal name stamps / hanko), carved with Japanese family names.
The total length of the case is 650 mm.
This is an authentic piece of Showa/Heisei-era Japanese shop furniture — the kind of rotating hanko display that once stood in stationery stores across Japan. It features a glass-fronted aluminium-framed cabinet on a rotating base, topped with the original red "高級手彫 訂正印 ¥650" (Premium Hand-Carved Correction Seals) sign, with the seals arranged and indexed by surname behind the glass.
The seals themselves are wooden (no ivory or bone). A wonderful display and conversation piece for collectors of Japanese retro goods, stationery, hanko culture, typography and Japanese design.
