二つの小さな持ち手を備えた球形の壺
クメール語ならびにフランス語の美術史的表現に従い、タイ・スコータイ王朝時代
Sawankhalokの窯での製作
14世紀 – 15世紀
粘土質の磁器釉薬がひび割れた celadon グレーズ
高さ：16 cm 直径：16 cm
球形でずんぐりとした体形をもつ重要な壺で、完璧な対称性を示す。丸みを帯びた肩部は、釉薬の下に刻まれた微細な同心円の線によって強調され、ろくろ成形の際に作られている。耳と呼ばれる小さな環形の持ち手を二つ支持し、短く絞られた首を挟み、円形の厚くわずかに外側へ開いた縁で終わる。
作品は厚い単色の celadon 色のグレーズで覆われ、淡い緑がかった灰緑色が特に明るく、全体に細かいひび割れ（地割れ）が自然に走っている。現地の焼成技法に忠実で、下部の高台の上でちょうど途切れ、曲がりくねっている。平面的な底と脚は露出しており、鉄の酸化作用によって焼成時に粘土が茶褐色（レンガ色/赤土色）に変色している。
この種の器は、しばしば生姜壺または油壺と呼ばれ、スコータイ王国の主要な陶器生産地（主に Sri Satchanalai / Sawankhalok の窯）で最も象徴的かつ輸出された品の一つである。中国の長掾産の青磁を手本とし、これらの壺は貴重な香辛料、香油、薬品、儀式用物質を保存するのに用いられた。小さな持ち手があることは、革紐または麻紐を通して瓶の口を封じたり、器を吊るしたりするための結びつけ具として機能していた。
保存状態
元々の釉の小さな欠落、胴部の光沢の欠け、側面の欠損、ひび割れおよび焼成時の軽い欠陥が認められる。
