A fine ceramic vase with four handles modeled as female nude figures, decorated in dark and cream coloured glazes, measuring circa 17,7cm in height and weighing 493g, signed to the underside Atelier Loets de Vries, active in Gouda 1954-1959.

四つの取っ手を持つ女性ヌード像として成形された上質な陶磁器の花瓶。濃色とクリーム色の釉薬で装飾され、高さ約17.7cm、重量493g。底面に署名 Atelier Loets de Vries、1954-1959年にゴーダで活動。

Leendert "Loets" de Vries (1924-1959) was a Dutch Ceramist. In the early 1950s he worked in Antwerpen, Belgium. He married Lot Spee, who became his muse and model for his sculpted nudes. In 1954 he moved to Gouda and founded his ceramic atelier where he would continue working until his untimely death by car accident in 1959 in Germany. Extant examples of his work are highly sought after.
