This masterwork originates from the rich craft-making traditions of Kaga (Ishikawa Prefecture), celebrated for its Kaga Paulownia Woodcraft and Kaga Maki-e. Meticulously crafted from natural Paulownia wood (kiri), which is traditionally treasured in Japan for its lightweight durability, beautiful organic grain, and warm texture, the body is gracefully adorned with delicate Maki-e (traditional Japanese gold and colored lacquer painting) featuring a lovely floral motif of Paulownia (kiri) blossoms.
