Description from the seller

Michael Chapman – Fully Qualified Survivor (Harvest – SHVL 764) made in Holland 1970 original 1st pressing gatefold LP | vinyl: VG+ --> vinyl starts of with A1 (The Aviator), which has some side noise (VG(+), then quality gets better to satisfying soon. a strong VG+ is my guess | it was a great pleasure again to listen to this, before saying goodbye --> some wonderful music.... | gatefold - some side noise in silent passages. | Dutch issue originally released in a UK gatefold cover.

English singer-songwriter and guitarist (born: 24 January 1941, Leeds, Yorkshire, England - died: 10 September 2021, Brampton, England).
A self-taught musician from an industrial southern suburb of Leeds, Chapman paid his way through art college playing in skiffle bands, strip clubs and jazz trios, plus a brief stint roadying for John Cage (“He did a recital at Leeds Art Gallery. I took him to the market to buy fish to put in his piano”). He later packed up his teaching job at Bolton College of Art, becoming a big name on the Cornwall acoustic scene. As the tale goes, one rainy night in the late 1960s he went to a pub in Cornwall, but didn’t have the money to enter. “So I said, ‘I’ll tell you what, I don’t want to stand outside in the rain; I’ll play guitar for half an hour for you,’” he once wrote. “They offered me a job for the rest of the summer and I’ve been at it ever since.”
He first appeared on the London and Cornwall folk music circuits in 1967, alongside John Martyn and Roy Harper. He recorded his debut album in 1969 for the Harvest label which released 3 subsequent albums. After the release of Wrecked Again (1971), Chapman parted with Harvest, choosing to sign to Decca’s subsidiary Deram, where he began adding electric guitar and harder rhythms to his work. Several albums were released on Deram during the early to mid 1970s including Savage Amusement (1976) produced by Memphis legend Don Nix.

Seller's Story

My name is Hans Kesteloo and I finally decided to sell my ‘remaining’ collection of 45’s, LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, laserdiscs and other odd things after more than 60 years of ‘hardcore’ collecting. I purchased my first 45 in 1965, and this was the beginning of an enjoyable, long-time hobby – a real-time “collector’s career”. Now time has come to pass the baton ! When you like to see all my current active sale offers, then click on my name 'Klemtoon' in any lot / auction. Please note: Since I'm a one man show and aged, I can only send on mondays and thursdays. Returns: In case you like to return an item: I will refund the postage cost of shipping the item(s) to buyer. Buyer pays for the cost of returning that item(s) My grading in Brackets is the same as the grading before that, but here I use the old respected "Goldmine" grading for the older traditional collector! vg+ = slight traces of use / visible traces inaudible (Goldmine grading: VG+) ex = very light inaudible traces (Goldmine grading: VG++) nm = as new (Goldmine Grading: M-) mint = new (Goldmine grading: M)
