Joan Llaverias is a Catalan artist whose work represents the appearance of colors, especially those that appear in their pure state.
As soon as he started painting as a child, Llaverias transformed all the images into geometric shapes. He studied engraving, ceramics and, later, jewelry design in Barcelona. He has been painting for more than 25 years and has clung to abstraction, which acts as a guide throughout his work. Llaverias' abstract work seeks to explore the limits of painting, both in shapes and colors. His paintings allude to the hippie movement of the 1960s, the artist seeks to find and invent images that are not yet known, or that have not been used before.
Llaverias' paintings have been exhibited in Spain and abroad, especially in Europe.
