Large Roman military iron spearhead / arrowhead with a long, narrow tang, triangular head and two pronounced backward-pointing barbs, designed to make removal from the target more difficult.

大型のローマ軍用鉄製槍先/箭頭で、長く細い柄（タング）と三角形の頭部、後方へ突き出た二つの目立つ逆向きの刺針が特徴で、標的からの抜去を難しくするよう設計されています。

The tang would originally have been inserted into a wooden shaft and secured with binding or adhesive. The pointed central blade and sharply projecting barbs indicate that the arrowhead was intended for warfare or hunting rather than target practice.

柄は元々木製のシャフトに挿入され、束ねるか接着剤で固定されていたと考えられます。中央の尖った刃と鋭く突き出た刺針は、この矢頭が狩猟・戦闘用で、標的打ちの練習用ではなかったことを示しています。

-> The Roman army had a wide variety of arrowheads that were designed for a special purpose. Narrow shaped blades are more tailored to penetrate armour or leather. Wider blades are more suitable for attacking the flesh and adding barbs to the arrowhead the damage to the flesh was increased.

Roman archers and auxiliary units used a wide variety of iron arrowheads, including simple leaf-shaped, trilobate and barbed forms. Their effectiveness depended not only on the shape of the head, but also on the power of the bow and the skill of the archer.
