A fine ceramic vide poche with handle modeled as a female nude figure, decorated in dark and cream coloured glazes, measuring circa 17,5cm in length and weighing 215g, signed to the underside Atelier Loets de Vries, active in Gouda 1954-1959.

Leendert "Loets" de Vries (1924-1959) was a Dutch Ceramist. In the early 1950s he worked in Antwerpen, Belgium. He married Lot Spee, who became his muse and model for his sculpted nudes. In 1954 he moved to Gouda and founded his ceramic atelier where he would continue working until his untimely death by car accident in 1959 in Germany. Extant examples of his work are highly sought after.

Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minimal wear.
