Description from the seller
Original Realistic Pencil Drawing. Directly from the Artist.
Schu (b. 1976, Germany) is a contemporary figurative artist whose work is centered on the world of wild animals. His drawings go beyond faithfully capturing their physical appearance. Equally important to him is conveying the animal's presence, along with the quiet strength and calm that radiate from it.
For many years, he has refined his realistic pencil drawing technique, using the medium to render light, texture, and the finest details with precision. Technical skill, however, is never an end in itself. Instead, it serves as a means of inviting the viewer to look more closely and to form an almost personal connection with the animal.
His greatest source of inspiration is the wilderness. Its endless variety of forms, textures, and patterns continually inspires him.
Schu studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences Trier (Germany), sculpture and design at the University of Kansas (USA), and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (Poland).
