Questo calamaio figurativo in bronzo dei primi del '900 raffigura la testa di un cane da caccia che tiene tra le fauci un'anatra. Le ali aperte del volatile fungono da comodo poggia penne, mentre la testa del cane è incernierata e si solleva per rivelare il vano per l'inchiostro.

Buone condizioni generali di conservazione, presenta lievi difetti di materiale dovuti al normale trascorrere del tempo, come dimostrato nelle fotografie.
