歴史的なボルドゥト鉱山の基質から、透明な石膏変種セレナイト結晶群が劇的にそびえ立つ。結晶は典型的なプリズム状の形を示し、ダイヤモンド形の終端部を持ち、卓越した透明感と宝石のような半透明さを放ち、光を美しく捉える。
ボルドゥト鉱山は、その活発な時期にヨーロッパでも最高級のセレナイト標本を生み出し、独特の熱水環境による大きさと純度で高く評価されていた。この大きく整った結晶は、ルーマニア産石膏のショーケース品質を手に入れる稀少な機会を示す。
マラムゥレシュ県のボルドゥト鉱山は2008年以降操業を停止しており、周辺の全鉱山が閉山、坑道は封鎖され、外部インフラは撤去されるか撤去作業中である。
