Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Natural Baltic amber pendant featuring a well-preserved fly inclusion (Diptera) with a secondary tiny insect, set in a 925 sterling silver bail and measuring approximately 29.5 × 10 × 4 mm.
Description from the seller
### Material & Inclusions
Authentic Baltic amber with a warm golden-honey tone, polished to reveal a beautifully preserved **FLY** (order Diptera), likely a small muscoid or closely related fly. The insect is displayed in an excellent three-dimensional position, allowing many anatomical features to be observed, including large compound eyes, a compact thorax, a distinctly segmented abdomen, long slender legs, short antennae, and a single visible pair of transparent wings with well-defined venation. Fine body hairs around the thorax and abdomen further enhance the remarkable level of preservation.
A second, much smaller insect is also naturally preserved nearby, making this a desirable multi-inclusion specimen. Delicate plant fragments, flowing resin structures, microscopic organic debris, and tiny natural bubbles contribute additional depth while confirming the amber's natural origin.
### Craftsmanship & Presentation
Expertly shaped into an elegant elongated freeform pendant with smooth, high-gloss polishing that maximizes visibility of the fossil inclusions from multiple angles. Finished with a durable 925 sterling silver bail, creating a timeless piece suitable for collectors, fossil enthusiasts, and lovers of natural history.
### UV Testing & Fluorescence
Glows with the characteristic blue-green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, consistent with genuine Baltic amber. The specimen is entirely natural and untreated, with no dyes, fillers, or synthetic enhancements.
### Pendant Dimensions
Approximately 29.5 × 10 × 4 mm (including bail)
### Geological Origin
Age: approximately 35–50 million years
Epoch: Eocene
Region: Baltic Sea area — world-renowned for producing amber with exceptional fossil preservation.
### Condition & Authenticity
This is a one-of-a-kind specimen of natural Baltic amber featuring a well-preserved **FLY** accompanied by a tiny secondary insect inclusion. The amber exhibits excellent clarity with attractive natural resin flow lines and organic inclusions, while remaining free from cracks, fillers, and artificial modifications. A scientifically fascinating and visually elegant fossil preserved for millions of years.
