Item Description

Set of 2 Japanese Kitchen Knives – Tokihisa (とぎ久) Betsusaku Tokujō – Recommended by Sakai Cutlery Wholesalers Cooperative Association

This lot consists of two traditional Japanese kitchen knives sold as a set. Both knives feature the inscription 「とぎ久 別作 特上」(Tokihisa – Betsusaku – Tokujō / Special Make – Superior Grade) and bear the recommendation seal of the Sakai Cutlery Wholesalers Cooperative Association (堺利器卸協同組合推奨) on the handle.

The blades have a traditional kasumi (mist-finish) construction with a polished cutting edge and soft iron cladding, giving them the classic appearance of Japanese handcrafted kitchen knives. They are fitted with natural wooden wa-handles and black ferrules.

The exact steel type is not confirmed. Based on the appearance and markings, these appear to be traditional Japanese knives intended for general kitchen use.

Both knives remain in unused condition, retaining the original recommendation stickers on the handles. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.

Shipping Information

Your item will be shipped from Japan with a tracking number.

YuDesign normally ships via Japan Post. However, depending on the destination country and international postal conditions, one of the following carriers will be used: Japan Post, Japan Post UGX, DHL, or Yamato Transport (UPS).

Since July 24, 2026, Japan Post has temporarily suspended acceptance of certain IOSS shipments. Therefore, when necessary, alternative shipping services such as Japan Post UGX or Yamato Transport (UPS) may be used.

As a result, shipping costs to some countries may be slightly higher than usual to ensure reliable delivery.

Delivery usually takes approximately 1–2 weeks, although customs clearance and local delivery conditions may cause delays.

Any import duties, VAT, customs clearance fees, or other taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

Items will be carefully packed to ensure safe delivery. Recycled cardboard boxes and reused packing materials may be used as part of our environmental policy.

When it is safe to do so, lightweight packaging may be used to reduce shipping costs.

Please note that due to the current impact on international postal services in the Middle East, Japan Post has suspended shipments to Cyprus. Orders destined for Cyprus will therefore be shipped only via DHL or Yamato Transport (UPS).

Please refer to the shipping rate table for your destination country.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
