大きなローマ帝国期テラ・シギラータ製の器で、北アフリカ産の象嵌風リリーフと花模様を具有します。紀元2世紀頃のものと推定されます。
説明
お譲りするのは、約2世紀頃の年代とされる extraordinary なローマのテラコッタ瓶、Terra Sigillata です。
器は特徴的でほぼ球形に近い胴部と、細長く円錐状に細くなる首、そして目立つ縁部の仕上げを備えています。特に印象的なのは両側の取っ手と、器体の装飾の精緻さです。
胴部の周囲には葉のモチーフを含む立体浮彫の装飾と、人間の像が散在しています。浮彫と強く酸化した赤橙色の表面が、この品に特有の魅力的な古代の雰囲気を与えています。使用痕、表面の沈着物、摩耗が歴史的な character を強調しています。
