Pair of Vintage Armchairs with Cane Backrests – Louis XVI / Neoclassical Style, 20th Century

Elegant pair of vintage armchairs featuring finely shaped wooden frames, decorative linear details and beautifully woven Viennese cane backrests.

The armchairs have a refined and harmonious silhouette inspired by French Louis XVI and Neoclassical furniture, with decorative elements recalling European furniture traditions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The frames are made of worked wood with a light, softly distressed and patinated finish, giving the chairs an authentic aged and decorative appearance.

Construction and details

The high backrests are framed by shaped wooden surrounds, with a gently curved upper rail and linear decorative detailing. The central panels are entirely fitted with traditional hand-woven Viennese cane, creating the characteristic regular openwork pattern.

The armrests are elegantly curved and integrated into the back structure. The front legs are tall and graceful, slightly curved and enriched with longitudinal fluting and linear decorative elements. Similar detailing continues around the seat frame.

The upholstered seats are covered in a soft dusty-pink fabric, finished with decorative edging. The rounded upholstery gives the chairs a comfortable and welcoming appearance while maintaining their elegant proportions.
