銀貨で、表面には太陽を戴く三つの火山が描かれた、グアテマラの象徴的なモチーフである地の領域と自由を象徴するアイコンを描く。デザインは素朴だがはっきりと描かれている。裏面は額面の 1/4 Real を中央に、周囲を植物の冠で囲み、下部には五つ星が添えられ、旧中米連邦を示唆している。本品は非常に良好な保存状態で、浮き彫りが鮮明、地字は清潔でわずかな銀色の色調と穏やかな錆を帯び、元の輝きを引き立てる美しい中心揃いを備えた優れた仕上がりである。
