Blue Aragonite specimen from Helmand Province, Afghanistan, a self-standing display piece measuring 21 cm high, 16 cm wide and 9 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Blue Aragonite - Sculptural Botryoidal Formation - Sky Blue Color
An Exceptional Sculptural Blue Aragonite - A 3D Work of Natural Art
Offered here is a superb and highly aesthetic specimen of Blue Aragonite, displaying the classic and highly sought-after sky-blue to turquoise-blue coloration that makes this mineral so desirable for collectors.
This specimen is a truly sculptural piece with a complex, three-dimensional botryoidal and stalactitic growth. It exhibits a fascinating porous, eroded morphology with natural cavities, folds, and flowing forms that create excellent depth and shadows. The surface shows a velvety, micro-druse texture with a silky to dull luster, typical for this material.
The vibrant baby-blue aragonite is beautifully contrasted by a secondary creamy-beige to tan micro-crystalline coating on the raised botryoids, enhancing its visual texture and definition. The color is natural and is due to trace copper inclusions during formation. No repair, no restoration - 100% natural.
This is a self-standing, display-ready showpiece that stands perfectly on its own as shown in the photos. A great centerpiece for any carbonate, aragonite, or aesthetic mineral collection.
Details:
Mineral: Blue Aragonite (Copper-bearing Aragonite)
Origin: Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Luster: Silky / Velvety / Dull
Habit: Botryoidal, stalactitic, globular aggregate with natural vugs
Condition: Very good. Natural eroded / porous texture at edges as formed in nature. No artificial treatments.
Collector Notes: Blue Aragonite in such large, 3D sculptural forms with intense color is becoming increasingly hard to find. This piece combines excellent color, form, and self-standing display capability.
