Mashikoの国際的に最も展示されているスタジオ陶芸家の一人による、コンパクトで艶やかな釉が施されたオリベの酒器徳利。
石釉で成形され、高内の代表的なオリベ釉で仕上げられたこの小さな徳利は、深くムラのある緑が多面体の手彫り表面を不規則に流れ、縁の部分から暖かい黄土色と鉄色が覗く。表面の不規則な多面は全体に光を拾い、控えめなサイズにもかかわらず強い彫刻的存在感を放つ——これは高内のスタジオ作品の特徴で、ビクトリア＆アルバート美術館からパリやデンマークの美術館に至るまで国際的に展示されています。

Shugo Takauchi (b. 1937) は、東京生まれのスタジオ陶芸家で、1968年に栃木県益子に窯を開きました。彼の作品は日本伝統工芸展と日本陶芸展に選ばれ、国際的にはロンドンのビクトリア＆アルバート博物館、フランスのヴァロリス国際ビエンナーレ、デンマークやパリの美術館で展示されています。作品は東京国立近代美術館をはじめとする日本の主要機関のコレクションにも所蔵されています。
