アイテム描述
これは『銀座画外』の初版（1954年／昭和29年）で、画家・木村荘八が編んで著し、東京・東方書房から刊行された。
銀座の過去と現在を豊富な図版で綴った、東京で最も有名な区の一つを扱う一冊。随筆・図・地図・浮世絵・写真を巧みに組み合わせている。
特筆すべきは発行時の二点の木版画版がそのまま別冊とともに含まれていること：歌川広重（四代）によるカラー風景と井上安治による夜景のモノクロ版。
本書は木村荘八自身のペン画を随所に配し、古 Prints の複製や昭和期の銀座を evocative に写した白黒写真とともに掲載されている。
本巻の本体は334ページ、ハードカバーで、元の印刷スリップケース付き。

外装とスリップケースには経年の使用感があり、特にスリップケースはかなり擦り切れ、損傷しています（写真参照）。
本体は清潔で読みやすく、木版画の2枚は現存しています。
別冊の補足アルバムは含まれていません。
著者 / 背景
木村荘八（1893–1958）
東京・日本橋生まれの洋画家で、前衛美術団体「伏斎会」を岸田劉生とともに1912年に設立し、後に春卿会の中心メンバーとなりました。
挿絵作家として特に名高く、夏目漱石の『坊つちやん奇談』などの挿絵でも知られ、古都東京の風俗や風景を愛情深く記録した作家・画家として評価されています。
没後には『東京頬城記』が日本美術院賞を受賞しています。
