唐代を題材にした、紙に金箔を施した六曲屏風 - Paper, Silk, Gold leaf - Japan - 江戸時代（19世紀前半）

雲を描いた動きのある六曲一隻の屏風で、金箔の浮き彫りが施され、川岸に集い山岳の景観の中で学問的な趣を楽しむ唐代の装束をまとった人物たちが描かれています。\n\n屏風は絹の縁取りと漆塗りの木製枠で仕上げられています。\n\n屏風は壁掛けとしても、部屋の間仕切りとしても簡単に設置できます。\n\nByōbu（屏風）は“風よけ屏風”を直訳した語で、もともと空間を区切るために作られた伝統的な日本の折りたたみ屏風で、今日では何より印象的な壁掛け絵画として評価されています。\n\n---The byobu is in good condition. Signs of use to the lacquered frame and to the silk, consistent with age, and loss to the metal fitting at the lower left corner. Paper imperfections on the back.
