ササン朝の細密に刻まれたカーネリアン製の stamps seal。印章は円形で背面が半球状。平らな表面には左を向く男性の横顔が彫られている。特徴的な鼻と顎、そして簡素な頭飾りを含む顔の特徴を丁寧に彫り出している。印章は吊り下げ用に水平方向に穿孔されている。印面に安定した亀裂が走る。縁の欠け。
印章は多くは石で作られていたが、骨・象牙・ファイエンス・ガラス・金属・木材、さらには日干しまたは焼成した粘土の例もある。古代世界では、印章は所有権の真偽を保証し、それゆえ法的取引や盗難からの財の保護において重要な役割を果たした。スタイライズされた動物図像の印章のお守りは、BC4千年紀後半の文脈でメソポタミア全域で発見されているが、古代近東ではスタンプ印と円筒印が主流のタイプだった。
寸法: 幅1.3cm × 高さ1.2cm
