Description from the seller

タイトル: Urban Heatwave 2026
アーティスト: Gábor Helyes Architect & Photographer, www.gabor.art
Edition: 1/12 (Limited Edition, Number 1 of 12)
Size: 120 x 44 cm + 3 cm white paper frame

Artwork Description & An Unrepeatable Vantage Point:
This artwork was inspired by the unprecedented extreme weather events of summer 2026, when an extraordinary heat dome phenomenon blanketed Europe, breaking centuries-old temperature records and reaching its peak intensity in Budapest. This state of climatic extremity deeply inspired the artist, giving birth to the vivid, intensely expressive color palette of this piece to visually capture the sublime and overwhelming power of this historic atmospheric event.
"Urban Heatwave" offers a breathtaking, cinematic panorama of Budapest captured from a truly historic, once-in-a-lifetime vantage point: the very highest point of the city's iconic Liberty Statue on Gellért Hill. Taken from this restricted alpine height during recent structural works, this perspective is now entirely sealed. Following the completion of the monument's reconstruction, no photographer or member of the public will have the opportunity to stand at this peak again for approximately the next 50 years, until the next major restoration cycle.

Technical Masterclass & Resolution:
The photograph is razor-sharp and captured in ultra-high resolution. It was created using a specialized panoramic technique, seamlessly stitching together dozens of high-resolution photographs to preserve an astonishing level of detail. Every architectural marvel, bridge, and distant street remains perfectly crisp. Please zoom in and inspect the detailed macro shots in the gallery to appreciate the incredible sharpness of this master print.

About the Artist:
Gabor Helyes (1963) is a Hungarian, Budapest-based fine art photographer and architect who seamlessly blends engineering precision with a powerful, evocative vision. His photographic work centers on ultra-high-resolution urban panoramas and conceptual architectural photography, characterized by the striking presence of rivers, water bodies, and dramatic atmospheric phenomena that lend a profound emotional resonance and monumentality to each piece.
As an architect, he has earned widespread recognition for his masterfully designed, artwork-level luxury villas, which heavily reflect the organic ethos and spirit of the legendary American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.
His artistic lens is uniquely shaped by a distinguished career as a leading architect. In 2010 he served as the Hungarian team's lead Architect on a mega-project for a Danube island in Budapest, collaborating directly with architectural legend Moshe Safdie (designer of the iconic Marina Bay Sands). Driven by a fascination with structural grace, he also designed a new Budapest bridge for an elite, invitational international competition, competing alongside Zaha Hadid Architects and UN Studio.
This rare fusion—the visionary force of an architect combined with structural expertise and photographic sensitivity—allows him to reveal the inner tension, balance, and aesthetic essence of the built world. His limited-edition prints offer collectors a highly sophisticated, multi-layered perspective on the urban landscape.
This active, structural creative approach seamlessly translates into his photographic work. The same mastery of spatial composition and the sophisticated manipulation of complex lighting systems can be directly observed in his unique photography style—characterized by bold, high-contrast imagery and an intensely vibrant color palette.

Print & Material Quality:
To maximize the atmospheric visual impact, the artwork has been produced as a premium metal print on museum-grade Fomei Metallic 255 g/m² paper. This metallic high-gloss finish provides an almost three-dimensional depth. The city lights, the Danube's reflections, and the shimmering summer heat-haze practically glow when placed under direct ambient light.
This Japanese-origin, highly reflective, glossy RC paper containing metallic micro-particles almost glows in the right light, giving the print a stunning 3D effect. As it is resistant to UV light and much less sensitive to fingerprints than silk matt papers, the print is also suitable for mounting on a hard backing (e.g. aluminum DiBond plate) without protective glass.
The print comes with a unique Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist himself.
Both the print and the Certificate are stamped with the artist's unique embossed dry stamp.
Printing and packaging of the image for safe transport is carried out by the Budapest-based specialist company Pigmenta Fine Art under the supervision of the artist. Printing is done on professional Canon Pro 2000, 4000, and 6000 printers using giclée archival quality, extremely durable ink.
In general, prints are shipped internationally in sturdy paper tubes with acid-free protective packaging. Upon request and for an additional fee, prints can also be shipped in sturdy, flat packaging.
The print will be shipped to the Buyer's address by FedEx.
We will hand over the print to FedEx for international delivery within 5 working days of receiving payment for the purchase and delivery. We do not frame the image.

Collector's Note:
This is the exclusive 1/12 print – the highly coveted first edition of a strictly limited run of 12 worldwide. It comes signed, numbered, and with a Certificate of Authenticity. A premier centerpiece for collectors seeking a rare, impossible-to-reproduce visual statement of one of Europe’s grandest capitals.
