古代ギリシャ語、ヘレニズム期のテラコッタ - タナグラの女神像
非常に優美な体型で、欠損のある仕上げが残る。赤い粘土で、部分的に基層が残る。
( 台座の古代修復。 ) 写真参照
背中に大きな開口部を備えた空洞像で、焼成時の緩みを取るための構造であり、おそらく大きな花瓶の装飾用の重厚な取っ手としての固定を可能にしていたと推測される。
正面配置で台座の上に立つ小像で、長いしわの寄った衣を身にまとっている。- チオーン。
右腕は曲げられ、手は右胸の上に休めている。
非常に繊細に造形された顔立ちは良好な状態で、髪が結われ、頭には後ろへと細く尖る帽子が載っている。
背面は平らに仕上げられており、型による製作を示唆している。
この種の小像は、祈祷所などで供物として捧げられた例が多い。
高さ23 cm の本件は、この小像群の標準的な寸法に合致し、遅い古典期から早期ヘレニズム期の造形様式の移行に stylistically 収まっている。
