走るだけのバイクがある一方で、 Kunstwerk（芸術作品）として作られるバイクもある。この2003年製のDucati Monsterは、妥協なきビジョンの結晶である。完璧なモンスターを作り上げるべく、 Borgo Panigaleの工場を出る以前より美しく、細部にまでこだわった姿を追求した結果だ。2年間にわたる壮大な変容の末、この機械は名高い職人の工房により完全に総再生され、最後のネジ一本まで新たに組み直された。ここではただの修復ではなく、アナログで荒々しいDucati時代の記念碑が築かれたのだ。
