Meissen – Peter Strang Design – “Angel Orchestra” – Set of 6 Hand-Modelled Porcelain Figurines – With Original Boxes

A charming and highly decorative set of six Meissen porcelain angel musicians, designed by Peter Strang, one of Meissen’s most distinctive modern sculptors.

The ensemble consists of six individually modelled figures:

● Violin – H 12 cm × W 3.5 cm × D 3.9 cm – approx. 71 g

● Flute – H 12 cm × W 4.5 cm × D 3 cm – approx. 68 g

● Cello – H 10 cm × W 6 cm × D 2.8 cm – approx. 79 g

● Lute – H 10.1 cm × W 5 cm × D 3.7 cm – approx. 78 g

● Trumpet – H 12.6 cm × W 4 cm × D 5.5 cm – approx. 73 g

● Singer – H 12.4 cm × W 4.5 cm × D 4.4 cm – approx. 72 g

Each angel has its own character and expression, with the playful, highly individual modelling characteristic of Peter Strang’s work.

The figures are decorated in delicate blue, green and yellow tones with rich gold accents. The musical instruments, stars and other details are beautifully highlighted in gold.

All six figures bear the Meissen crossed-swords mark on the underside.

Condition

Five figures are in mint condition, with no chips, cracks or restorations observed.

The Singer has a small chip to the upper star, clearly shown in the photographs.

Original Meissen brand boxes are included.
