DRコングのマンゲブツ族（Mangbetu）出の、 patina（経年の風合い）が美しい二头のハープです。ハープをはじめとする弦楽器はアフリカの重要な美術形式の一つで、楽器としてだけでなく、舞踊や儀式、物語の語りなど多くの宗教・世俗の儀礼において重要な彫刻作品として用いられてきました。多くの例で、体部を人間の形に取り入れているのが特徴です。これらの形は、北東ザイール、現在のコンゴ民主共和国のマンゲブツ族（Azande族も含む）のハープに典型的です。宮廷生活での使用と旅の吟遊楽団にも用いられていました。状態は良好で、使用感の痕跡が見られます。木製スタンドがこのオークション品に付属します。
