巨大な Natica 化石 – 迫力ある海生腹足類 – 古いコレクション
古いコレクションからの印象的な大型 Natica の化石標本。特筆すべきはその卓越したボリューム感、力強く発達した渦巻、そして remarkable な彫刻的存在感である。
貝殻はこの属の特徴である球形の形態を示し、体腔へ向かって急速に大きくなる広く丸みを帯びた巻き貝殻を持つ。その堂々たる比率は、より一般的に見られる古生代・後期の腹足類の化石と比べても著しく力強い外観を与える。
化石は極めて自然な状態で保存され、表面には温かな赤褐色から土色の patina が覆っている。色調の微妙な変化や鉱物沈着、自然な風化が、貝殻の元の曲率と巻の連続した成長を強調している。
特に際立つのは巨大な最終巻で、標本を支配的に占め、この個体が達した驚くべき大きさを明確に伝えている。孔部の領域は部分的に保存されている一方、反対側には貝殻の広く連続的な曲線が露出している。
表面には古い手書きのコレクション刻印も残っており、歴史的な趣を加え、以前のヨーロッパのコレクション出自を裏付けている。
