An ancient Egyptian steatite scarab dedicated to Horus, with reverse hieroglyphs reading “Praise Horus, beloved of Thoth,” measuring 1.5 cm by 1 cm, pierced for suspension (now blocked), in good condition with earth encrustations and edge chipping, dating to the New Kingdom (circa 1550–1069 BC), acquired from a private collection in 2000 and previously in the ex-AH London collection during the 1980s–2000s.
