手持ちの剣で、鹿の角を柄とするこの武器は、ボルネオ島のダヤク族に属します。
この武器はマンダウと呼ばれます。
この剣の製作はカヤン族とケニヤ族の特技です。
元来は首狩りの者の武器でしたが、現在は儀礼的な地位の象徴として、あるいはボルネオの密林地帯での作業用包丁として用いられています。
マンダウを構成する材料は以下の通りです：
完成したマンダウは、焼き入れ鉄（刃身）、鹿の角（柄）、木（鞘）を組み合わせたもので、しばしば描かれた図像、紐、玉、動物毛で飾られています。
図示された物には小さな刃は付属していません。
