アルジェリアのフリサ Flissah
説明
20世紀前半に遡るアルジェリア製のフリサで、全長約39 cm。
長く片刃の鋼刃は穏やかに弧を描く形状で先端が尖っています。柄近くの断面には手彫りの直線模様と切り込みのある模様が施され、背部には小さな切り欠きが二つ見えます。
形状の金属製の柄はリピートする幾何学的・直線文様で濃く彫られており、広く広がる花崗のようなブラス製の尾栓で終わります。真鍮の柄の一方には年齢とともに現れる亀裂が見られます。柄は生前に取り替えられた可能性があります。一般的には金属の「犬頭」柄が用いられてきたためです。
刀身には元の長い木製の鞘が付属しており、暗色の金属帯、金属先端部、吊り環が装着されています。木製の鞘には大きな経年裂、継ぎ目の開き、表面の摩耗・損耗が著しく、写真にもはっきりと写っています。鋼刃も酸化と表面の腐食が年齢相応に見られます。
