光り輝くターコイズグリーンのエジプト青瓷で作られた、精巧に作られたウジャット（ホルスの眼）のお守り。
両面とも丁寧に成形され、眉毛・瞼がはっきりと描かれた、ホルスの眼のスタイル化された意匠が示されています。鮮やかな釉薬と優雅なプロポーションは、後期エジプトの青瓷製作の高品質を reflection しています。
ウジャットの眼は、古代エジプトで最も重要で広く使われた保護のお守りのひとつでした。神ホルスの眼を表し、彼の神話的なセスとの戦いの後に復元され、癒し・保護・完全性・再生を象徴します。そのようなお守りは生者と死者の双方に身に着けられ、病気や悪影響、不幸を防ぐと信じられ、神聖な保護の象徴として埋葬品に置かれることが一般的でした。
お守りには懸垂用の横向きの穴が開けられており、元々は個人の宝飾品として身につけられたか、葬具に組み込まれていたでしょう。
表面には魅力的で良好に保存されたターコイズグリーンの釉薬と、細かな古風な patina が残っています。
状態：年代に比して非常に良好。経年による小さな擦れはあるが、 Antiquity に一致。横方向の吊り穴は完全。
出所：旧マドレーネ＆エリヒ・ダーマン・コレクション（ドイツ）にあった。1950年～1970年の所有者の長い旅の間に取得。1970年までにドイツで文献化され、その後も家族経営の継承品として保持されている。
