Pristine Baltic amber pendant set in 925 sterling silver with a well-preserved parasitic wasp inclusion (Ichneumonidae) and exceptional clarity, approx. 14 × 9 × 6 mm including the bail.
Description from the seller
### Material & Inclusions
Authentic Baltic amber with a warm honey-golden tone and excellent transparency, polished to reveal a remarkably well-preserved PARASITIC WASP, most consistent with the family Ichneumonidae. The insect displays an exceptionally clear body structure, with large compound eyes, long segmented antennae, six slender segmented legs, transparent wings, and a distinctly segmented elongated abdomen. Fine wing venation and delicate anatomical details remain visible through the exceptionally clear amber, giving the inclusion impressive three-dimensional depth.
The amber also contains numerous naturally formed air bubbles of varying sizes, together with delicate thread-like organic material and small pieces of natural debris surrounding the insect. These additional inclusions add depth and visual character to the specimen while emphasizing its natural fossilized origin.
### Craftsmanship & Presentation
Shaped into a compact, elegant oval pendant with smooth, glossy polishing throughout. The amber has a particularly transparent central area that provides an unobstructed view of the ancient insect inclusion. A 925 sterling silver bail completes the pendant, providing a refined setting while keeping the focus entirely on the fossilized inclusion.
### UV Testing & Fluorescence
Under ultraviolet light, the amber displays a strong blue-green fluorescence characteristic of natural Baltic amber. The fluorescence also highlights internal structures, bubbles, and subtle natural features within the piece.
### Pendant Dimensions
Approximately 14 × 9 × 6 mm (including the silver bail).
### Geological Origin
Age: approximately 35–50 million years
Epoch: Eocene
Region: Baltic Sea area — renowned worldwide for amber containing exceptionally detailed fossil inclusions
### Condition & Authenticity
A one-of-a-kind natural amber specimen featuring a beautifully preserved PARASITIC WASP with remarkably visible anatomical details. The transparency of the amber allows the insect, air bubbles, and surrounding organic inclusions to be viewed from multiple angles. Its compact size and exceptional preservation make it an appealing specimen for amber collectors, fossil enthusiasts, and lovers of natural history.
