Imai Masayukiによる洗練された茶碗は、現代日本の陶芸界を代表する巨匠のひとりであり、日本の最高芸術勲章である文化勲章の受章者です。
この茶碗は、画家の署名入りの*inka*（浮彫花模様の押印技法）で全面を覆し、繊細な葉のモチーフを dense rhythm のように連続させた、密集したパターンで装飾されています。柔らかな灰白色の表面には静かで古風な温かみが宿り、露出した足は自然な粘土と作者の印をはっきりと示します。その形は今井の成熟作を定義する、地に足のついた存在感と控えめな品格を備えたもので、じっくりと熟考して鑑賞する価値のある作品です。
Imai Masayukiは、*men-zōgan*（表面嵌入装飾）の第一人者として称えられ、独自の*tai-deisai*苔釉技法を開発しました。原箱（木箱）付きでこの規模の作家の作品は、現代日本の工房 ceramics のコレクターにとってますます高い価値を持つようになっています。
