オリジナルのチーク材のシンガの家装飾品で、Sumatra島のバタク族のもの。装飾は19世紀初頭のものと推定されます。
トバ・バタクのGorgaは、通常、伝統家屋の外壁に彫刻または彫り込まれる技法を指します。Gorgaは、掘りだけでなく塗装されることもある模様・紋様と言えます。Gorgaの材料は通常、柔らかい木材であり、切削・彫刻が容易です。バタクの祖母たちはUngil（あるいは一部の人はIngul）と呼ぶ木を選びます。このUngil材には特定の特性があり、直射日光や雨水への曝露に対して耐性があるため、日焼けや雨水曝露による腐朽が起きにくいのが特徴です。
