DESCRIPTION
The Planar T* 1.4/50 is the lens that defined the Contax/Yashica system. Its seven-element Gauss design with Zeiss T* multicoating is famous for rich colour, high micro-contrast and a creamy out-of-focus rendering that photographers still chase decades later. This is the MM version, identified by the green F16 setting that unlocks program and shutter-priority modes on later Contax bodies, and it was made in Japan under Carl Zeiss supervision — the MMJ that many users prefer for its slightly warmer signature. It remains one of the most sought-after lenses to adapt to mirrorless cameras.
