The fossils preserve a remarkably robust and strongly convex shells with a distinctive oval form and clearly visible radial surface ornamentation. The shells display attractive natural brown and beige tones, contrasting with the lighter-coloured sedimentary matrix in which it is preserved.
The shells are preserved in three dimensions and remain attached to a large piece of their original fossil-bearing matrix. The natural cavities, mineralisation, fractures and irregularities visible in the matrix are characharistic of its geological origin and contributes to the authenticity and character of the specimens.
The fossils originate from Kraymorie, Bulgaria, an area known for marine fossiliferous sediments. At approximately 40 million years old, these specimens represent marine life from the Eocene, a period when much of the region was influenced by marine environments.
These three are natural fossil specimens. The matrix and fossils may contain natural cracks, cavities, mineral inclusions and other features resulting from fossilisation and geological processes. No artificial reconstruction or restoration is implied unless otherwise stated.
