Original mid-century American circus poster advertising the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. Circus ("The World's Largest Circus") for a performance at the Airport Grounds in Galveston on Saturday, October 23rd.
The Clyde Beatty and Cole Bros. Circuses merged in late 1956, making this vibrant poster an iconic representation of post-golden-age American circus history under the leadership of world-famous animal trainer Clyde Beatty.
The graphic features a snarling male lion artwork paired with bold typographic lettering. This lot includes the main poster along with its original, separate local date strip ("date tail") attached at the bottom.
