ドゴンゴ民主共和国のソンゲ族の美しいキフウェベ・マスクです。キフウェベと呼ばれ、ソンゲ語で『マスク』という意味です。
Typically, it has a face covered with linear incisions, a square protruding mouth and a linear nose set between globular pierced eyes. -> 通常、顔には直線的な切り込みが施され、四角く突き出た口と、球状の貫通した目の間に直線的な鼻が配置されています。
This is a male mask with crest. -> これは冠状の突起を備えた男性用のマスクです。
During initiation, circumcision or funeral ceremonies, a dancer will wear the mask and his body will be covered with straw. -> 授与式・割礼・葬儀の儀式の間、踊り手がマスクを着け、体はわらで覆われます。
The dancer who wears the female mask displays more gentle and controlled movements and is assumed to be associated with reproduction ceremonies. -> 女性のマスクを着ける踊り手は、より穏やかで抑制された動きを見せ、繁殖儀式と関連すると考えられています。
Good condition with traces of wear and tear. -> 使用感はありますが良好な状態です。摩耗の痕跡あり。
